Change your oil regularly
We all know that a well maintained car will last longer. A well maintained car will save you money in the long run and extend the life of your vehicle. One of the most important steps you can take to keep your car running smoothly is to regularly change the engine oil.
As you run and drive your car, the oil keeps all the internal metal parts parts of your engine lubricated and running smoothly. Engine oil is imperative to a smooth running car. Over time, the oil breaks down from the heat and friction inside your engine. It also picks up impurities and gets dirty. Once it breaks down and is too dirty, it can no longer efficiently and effectively protect your engine. So over time, more wear and tear will happen to the moving metal parts. Once these parts wear out, it means very expensive repairs coming out of your pocket. Replacing your engine oil regularly will prevent premature wear and keep you on the road longer.
But when you should you change your oil? It used to be normal to change your oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles. But this one-size fits all approach doesn’t apply to many of today’s cars. Most new cars will specify in the owners manual at what interval to change the oil. The manual will also specify what type of oil to use. Changing your oil at the specified interval will not only save you money, but will prevent still-viable oil from going to waste.
