How to Change Oil by Yourself – Step by Step
Changing your car’s oil is a crucial maintenance task that should be carried out regularly to keep your vehicle running smoothly. So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Step 1.
We’ll be using this Mobile 1 extended performance high mileage 0W-20. You’re gonna need a leverage bar, you’re gonna need the tool for your housing. You’ll need a ratchet 14 mm for your drain plug. And the filter.
We will be using a socket that’s going to be attached to the leverage bar breaker bar. It’s very difficult to take that all housing off you will find out, so use a tool.
And of course you’re going to need your a pan and your funnel plus get the plug washers.
Step 2.
We’re going under the passenger side and you’ll see that there’s the plug right there 14 to the left so we’re underneath and right at the front of the car. Take off those 5 bolts. We’re going to go ahead and take this plate off. We got the skid plate off.
Step 3.
We got to come over here and take this housing. It’s what told in the oil filter. Take this off.
Then you’ll put your socket on here and turn it, break it loose.
Broke it loose and just turn it broken loose like that. So if you want to get it off, make sure you have your oil pan underneath. Clean this up.
Step 4.
Take the new filter. There’s a ring on here. You’re just gonna get a little bit of oil, supposed to be new oil.
Replace this little ring and you’ll do that in a minute.
Filter you want to tightness you’ll hear a click because there’s a little pin. This little thing clicks on it a little tab, click when your zip on. Now, install the new filter.
Step 5.
Add some oil. We’ll be using the 0W-20.
Check the oil level about where it needs to be. Now just got to check for leaks underneath. It’s been running for about five minutes and everything’s alright, then you’re done!
